In 2020 I managed to locate a 1970s amplifier that was in good condition with everything working on it. It's a 'silver-face' Rotel RA-314 integrated amplifier that is set up in my bedroom. I'm just using a DAP as the source for it so I don't have any other dedicated source components for it.
Needless to say, it does sound good! Quite surprisingly I found that it could easily drive my high-impedance Beyerdynamic T1 Gen2 headphones. I used my small Q Acoustics 2020i speakers, which are placed on acoustic foam pads (these really do make a difference by providing a much tighter sound).
This makes for a nice and tidy audio system for my bedroom. The system is placed upon a chest of drawers.
A 1970s HiFi component has been on audio bucket list for a while. I hope you enjoy the photos and feel free to comment and tell me about your vintage HiFi setups and wishlists.
